Department of State GrowthRoads for our Future

Midland Highway 10 Year Action Plan

Oatlands

Oatlands (Jericho to south of York Plains)

The works

This project will improve safety over approximately 17km between Jericho, around Oatlands and joining into the York Plains project at the top of St Peters Pass. Works will include road widening, extending sealed shoulders, additional overtaking lanes and installing flexible safety barrier to eliminate head on collisions.

Current situation - consultation now open

We're asking the community for their feedback on concept designs for projects at Powranna Road to South of Symmons Plains, Campbell Town North, Ross, and Oatlands.

In June 2020, we consulted with the community with concept proposals for these sections. Following their feedback, changes were made to the designs, including additional overtaking lanes and turn facilities.

These updated designs are now available on our interactive map for the public to view and provide feedback.

The feedback from this round of consultation will be considered before we finalise designs.

Public consultation is open until 30 May 2021.

You can view the draft designs, make comments or ask questions on on our interactive map, or at consultationtasmania@Jacobs.com

The safety improvements will minimise the risk of head-on and loss of control crashes and achieve a 3-star AusRAP rating for the highway.
