More traffic changes at Perth - 16 April 2020

16 April 2020

Road users will experience traffic changes near Perth during the opening of the final section of the Perth Link Roads project.

The new section of the Midland Highway will be opened at 12 pm on Thursday 16 April.

The northern link road is now complete, allowing road users travelling from Longford towards Launceston to travel through the new Western Interchange to the new section of the highway, bypassing Perth.

If travelling between Hobart and Launceston, drivers should travel on the new highway to the west past Perth, through the Western Interchange, and follow directional signage.

If travelling from Launceston or Hobart towards Longford, road users should travel on the new highway to the Western Interchange, and follow directional signage to Longford/Devonport to continue on to Illawarra Road.

Road users can still access Perth from the highway, through the northern and southern roundabouts.

There will be a reduced speed limit to give road users time to adjust to the new conditions, and allow for final roadworks to be completed safely. The road will be opened at full speed at the end of April, weather permitting.

Please approach the area with caution, and follow directions given by traffic controllers and signage.

We thank road users for their patience during these necessary works.
